报告摘要:

2D materials, due to their atom-thin nature and a full spectrum of physical/chemical properties, have been intensively studied over the past two decades. My talk has two parts.

1) Synthesis and characterization of 2D materials. In this part, I will introduce our recent progress in synthesizing and characterizing atom-thin 2D materials and their potential applications. A few 2D libraries will be introduced such as 2D sliding ferroelectrics (e.g. 3R TMDs and NbOX), and amorphous families (e.g. High-κ van der Waals native oxide and amorphous PtSex).

2) Application of 2D materials for electronics. In this part, I will introduce our work on the fabrication and integration of 2D electronics such as ultrafast photodetector with response time < 10ps. 2D neuromorphic computing architecture based on electrons and optics will also be introduced. I will also discuss our progress on materials by design.

报告人简介: 

Dr. Liu Zheng is a current professor at NTU, focusing his research on the synthesis and engineering of high-quality, large-size novel 2D monolayers, including graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). His work delves into the physical properties of 2D monolayers, exploring aspects such as 2D superconductivity, 2D ferroelectricity, 2D ferromagnetism, and 2D Wyle semi-metals. Additionally, Dr. Liu investigates applications of 2D materials, particularly in novel semiconducting electronics. His prolific career includes the publication of over 350 papers, with more than 50 featured in Nature/Science serial journals, accumulating over 60,000 citations and achieving an H-index of more than 120.
